Ribbons Unlimited, Inc. hair bow pictorial

Hello friends, and happy Friday!!

As you know, I recently became a member of the Ribbons Unlimited, Inc. design team. I just received my first shipment of ribbon, and was eager to play, so I made this darling hair bow.
I was inspired by THIS tutorial, but created my own step-outs, which follow.

Step 1: 
Gather supplies

Supplies used: 1 1/2" black and white polka dot ribbon, 5/8" shocking pink Nyvalour velvet ribbon
glue gun, black hair elastic, jute twine

Step 2: 
Cut polka dot ribbon 22 inches long. To prevent fraying of the ribbon, heat seal the ends of the ribbon with a torch/lighter by passing the ends of the ribbon quickly through the flame.

Step 3:
Fold the ribbon exactly in half and press hard to create a seam. You could also mark the inside of the ribbon at the center mark.

Step 4:
Lay the ribbon face down. Take the top half of the ribbon and loop it around like you are creating an awareness ribbon. The end of the ribbon should meet at the center mark of the ribbon length.

Step 5:
Repeat above step for the bottom part of the ribbon, making the ends meet in the center.

Step 6:
Take the top 'loop' of the ribbon and fold it down to the center of the length of ribbon.

Step 7:
Repeat for the bottom half of the ribbon. Pinch the center of the gathered ribbon loops.

Step 8:
Now secure the bow by wrapping your fiber (I used jute twine, but you can use any sturdy fiber or even thin wire) around the loops. Pull very tight, and tie off. Trim the ends

Step 9:
Using a hot glue gun, glue a black hair elastic on its end in the center of the bow.
Wrap the velour ribbon around the bow center and glue down.

Step 10:
Shape the loops of the ribbon to your liking and there you have it, a hair bow!

This ribbon was very easy to work with and made the bow making VERY easy!! Hope that you will give it a try!!
